On September 12, 1st Year International MBA students began the traditional Tsinghua Orientation. On the first day, students participated in a scavenger hunt which led them to many different locations within the large Tsinghua Campus. The scavenger hunt divided the International MBA class into 10 groups and required students to build trust and form leaders to help accomplish each task.
Max Edward Johnson, a 1st Year MBA from England, commented that "The scavenger hunt helped me get to know my classmates. I did not realize the Tsinghua Campus was so large. The Orientation definitely helped me feel like I am now a part of the Tsinghua history. In particular, I appreciated learning the school song" Originally established as a school to prepare young Chinese to study in the United States in 1911, the University today has state of the art research centers, one of China's best Science Parks, as well as the well recognized SEM Business School.
