Microsoft Hosts a Mixer for Tsinghua MBA Students
Jul 12, 2020

On December 4th, Microsoft hosted a mixer for Tsinghua MBA students. The event was an opportunity for first and second year students to meet a number of managers at Microsoft China. One of Microsoft's many offices in Beijing is located in the Tsinghua Science Park, a short walk from the SEM building.

The students that went to the mixer included both Chinese and international students. Max Johnson, a British 1st Year MBA school, mentioned that the mixer helped him understand what some of the many requirements are for foreigners to work in multi-national company in China. "Obviously Chinese is a factor during their hiring process. However, it is comforting to know that Chinese is not the only factor a company like Microsoft looks at. Aside from marketing skills, they really want to know if you understand how the life cycle of a Microsoft product works."

About Microsoft and Tsinghua

Tsinghua University is currently building a strong relationship with Microsoft.  Earlier this year, Tsinghua University  had the special honor to host Bill Gates as a guest speaker.

MBA students at Tsinghua are getting the opportunity to do internships at Microsoft. This past year, Tsinghua Carrie Wong, a second year MBA student from Hong Kong, spent long days out in the rural areas of Beijing doing a product development project for Microsoft. Carrie, currently on a semester abroad exchange in India, is currently working on a project for Microsoft in conjunction with MBA students from India and Europe.
