Tsinghua MBA Alumni Mentorship Program (AMP program) has recently set up the 2008 AMP Project Team. On October 23, 2008, the project team launched internal team training, which was also 2008 AMP project team’s second meeting since founded, in Weilun Building.

The meeting demonstrated the spirit of "passing the touch” and acted as a link and bridge between freshmen and seniors of MBA students to share experience and knowledge and discuss about future plans altogether. Students who attended the training all learnt and benefited much from this team training process in the cordial atmosphere there.

At the meeting, Chen Fun, the teacher who is responsible for AMP, firstly presented a speech to the audience. Miss. Chen introduced the last year’s AMP Group and offered a sum-up of experiences from that group. Miss. Chen spoke highly of the previous AMP group’s achievements and was in favor of their selfless effort and positive attitude. Miss. Chen then presented a video, showing all alumni mentors offering feedback and praise for last year’s AMP program. Mentors all considered this program to be a new platform for alumni and students at school, which with its unique advantage, would provide a ever-lasting communication channel for all alumni of SEM. Sun Jingwei, who is from Marketing group of AMP, completed preparatory work for Second AMP during the summer, getting in touch with nearly 500 alumni. Most of the alumni showed strong interest in AMP and expressed sincere hope to be able to participate in this AMP project. Sun Jingwei also introduced to the whole team about her experience in contacting the alumni on the telephone. Students carried out a simulation exercise of a phone conversation and discussed various possible scenarios and emergencies which may be encountered together, seeking the best solution to each problem. Miss. Chen also participated in this exercise acting as a busy alumnus and perfectly communicated with students actively. Finally, two students who participated in last year’s AMP project team delivered wonderful speeches. Liu Min-nan shared her experience, her gains and her feelings in AMP with us. Jiang Yuhua showed all students how to conduct telephone sales and the six key skills to train and practice. The six key skills offered perfect answer to how to start, identify and detect, define the product recommendation, recognize and take commitment within the possible shortest period. Miss. Jiang also explained to alumni what AMP was about, drawing their concern about the project and eventually persuaded them to join the AMP program. The wonderful speeches won warm applause from students.

The meeting ended in a warm and harmonious atmosphere. During our activities, students expressed their views of a positive start and all were dedicated to heated discussions concerning the project this year. All the endeavor and suggestions are made to achieve the following goals: Lay a solid foundation for AMP program and make it ever better. Establish a communication platform between students and alumni. Prepare AMP program for the title of “Flagship Program” of SEM at Tsinghua University.
