On October 11, 2009, the inaugural ceremony of Tsinghua MBA09 AMP management team and the project manager training session were held at the Weilun building. “Passing on the torch”- the baton of the 3 year Alumni Mentorship Program or AMP has now been successfully passed onto the hands of the 09 MBAs.
The ceremony was attended by Mao Donghui, the deputy director of the MBA Programs, and Chen Fang, the project leader of AMP from Student Affairs. All 29 members of the 09 AMP team also attended. Frank Man, president of 09AMP, presided over the meeting.
The deputy director, Mao Donghui first extended her warm welcome to the new management team and introduced the guiding philosophy behind the establishment and development of the AMP project. The project serves as a bridge between current students and alumni, allowing all students to have access to and enjoy support from alumni of different industries; both to meet the career development needs of students and the needs of alumni giving back to Tsinghua, all at the same time enriching the MBA program. She also set out expectations and demands for the 09 team. After 2 years of exploration and adjustments, the AMP project is now in its third year. She hopes that the new management team can build upon past achievements and further develop and innovate; making the AMP project more professional, comprehensive, innovative, refined, with a focus on results.
Project leader, Chen then briefed the students on the details of the AMP team formation. She pointed out that the AMP project has been well received by the 09 MBA students. This year, 29 students joined which exceeded the previous two years. This is also the first year with PMBA students participating. She hopes that the project not only be successful, but also through project management, students can enhance their execution skills in the hope of being more well rounded.
Afterwards, Sun Jingwei, 08 AMP team member, explained the process to the students and shared her experience in the project. She also briefed the students on the specific know-how.
Lastly, Mao, Chen along with the 09 team members discussed the positioning of the AMP project, this year’s focus, and future development.
The 09 MBA AMP project has now been officially kicked off, the enthusiasm shared by students and alumni will no doubt increase; through this bridge, students can find mentors and life coaches, lay the foundation for future career development, and pave the way for success in life.
