Professor QIAN Yingyi, Dean of Tsinghua SEM, held a discussion session with 2009 MBA students over an evening buffet at the café in Shunde Building.
The communication buffet, co-organized by the MBA Program and the MBA Alumni Association, has been a conventional event of the Program. It draws together MBA students, the Dean, as well as other faculty and staff members, allowing face-to-face discussion on topics ranging from MBA education and campus life to practical working experience.
Dean QIAN Yingyi talking with MBA students
On the May 19 buffet, Dean QIAN Yingyi talked about the new MBA curriculum launched in 2009 fall semester, and shared the ideas behind the curriculum development with students.
2009 MBA students spoke highly of the fall semester courses on soft skills, and showed sincere anticipation for the “integrated practice” module that is about to start. Students from full-time, part-time and international programs raised concerns and contributed suggestions respectively.
Questions were also raised with regards to current compulsory and selective courses, summer internships, and communication between domestic and international students. Dean QIAN Yingyi, faculty representatives and staff members analyzed those questions and proposed possible solutions.
Staff of the Career Development Center (CDC) also responded to highly concerned career development issues broached by students.
Present at the buffet were also Professor GAO Jian, Associate Dean of Tsinghua SEM, Professor GAO Xudong, Director of the MBA Program and Professor LI Jinliang, Director of the CDC.
