At Harvard Business School, MBA students participate in the school-led option called the Immersion Program. The China Immersion is the largest of the immersion pilots with some 70 MBA students traveling to Beijing, Hangzhou, Sanya, Hong Kong, Shanghai, and Shenzhen.
During the 2007 China Immersion, HBS Students and Faculty will come to Tsinghua on January 4th and 5th and participate in a number of activities with Tsinghua IMBAs. The itinerary includes academic and media panel presentations on a variety of topics affecting China, including entrepreneurship, the impact of the ending of the WTO protection period for commercial banks, real estate development, and the financial services industry. The experience will allow for important networking between Tsinghua and HBS students.
On Janury 5th, HBS Professor Kirby will also give a lecture on China to both HBS and Tsinghua students in Tsinghua. Professor Kirby is the director of Harvard's John King Fairbank Center for East Asian Research and the former Dean of Harvard’s Faculty of Arts and Sciences. Professor Kirby is an authority on China in the U.S.
