As the autumn semester began, Tsinghua SEM 2016 new students started school. At the 5^th anniversary of the publication of Zhu Rongji On the Record by ZHU Rongji, the first Dean of Tsinghua SEM, the school presented each undergraduate, graduate and MBA student with a four-volume Zhu Rongji On the Record, and each overseas student with a two-volume Zhu Rongji On the Record 1991-1997（English Version）and Zhu Rongji On the Record 1998-2003 (English Version), on the occasion of the 2016 New Student Opening Ceremony and Orientation. 

At the ceremony, Dean QIAN Yingyi, on behalf of Tsinghua SEM, presented the books to new students as gift. He said, Zhu Rongji On the Record is an important document about China’s reform and opening up, and particularly is a valuable treasure to Tsinghua SEM. “When the book was first published five years ago, our former dean ZHU Rongji gave 500 books to Tsinghua SEM faculty and students. We were all excited about it. Today, we gave these books to 2016 new students, in the hope that students, at the moment of entering SEM, would learn carefully our former dean’s economic management thoughts and practice, and could have a deeper understanding of China’s economic reform, so as to combine knowledge with national condition, which is of great significance to improve the teaching level of the school.”, said Dean QIAN.

Scroccu Paolo, a new GMBA student from Italy, said, Dean ZHU Rongji is a very important figure to China’s development, and the book would be of great help for him to understand China’s economic reform and Dean ZHU Rongji’s thoughts.
