On March 5, the faculty and students of Business School of Waseda University in Japan paid a return visit to Tsinghua SEM. 27 MBA students of Waseda University communicated with 26 Tsinghua MBA students, shared respective experiences in curriculum study and their own industries and experienced diversified cultures, bringing the intercourse between 2012 MBA students of these two universities to a consummated ending. Last month, a Tsinghua delegation consisted of 28 people including the faculty and students went to the Business School of Waseda University for the first time and embarked on the journey of green economy and diverse consumption survey.

    At 14:30 in the afternoon of March 5 and in Room 301 of Shunde Building, Ms Mao Donghui, the administrative deputy director of MBA Education Center extended warm welcome to MBA delegation from Waseda University composed of faculty and students. She expressed the wish that the cooperation between these two schools, especially the communication between students could further develop in the near future and more MBA students could participate in short-term exchange programs to broaden the international horizon, to enrich the industrial knowledge and to make contributions to the exchange between Chinese and Japanese cultures and industries. After playing the documentary of Tsinghua 100 Years, the deputy director of IMBA program of MBA Education Center and the recruitment director of IMBA program Ms. Ma Jia made a detailed introduction of Tsinghua SEM and MBA programs for visiting students.

    To fulfil a sound reception of MBA faculty and students from Business School of Waseda University, MBA Education Center made sufficient preparation. Helping them to contact enterprises to visit, Tsinghua also invited the most popular MBA professor Mr. Chen Taotao to host a case study lesson for students from Waseda University. Waseda students listened with all attention and interest. They took notes and discussed intensely and rhythmically. After the discussion of cases, the delegation leader Prof. Hibara of Waseda University expressed sincere gratitude to Prof. Chen Taotao with a present.

    After the visit to the old campus area of Tsinghua Garden, MBA faculty and students from Waseda University started communication with Tsinghua MBA faculty and students. Students exchanged ideas passionately and got along very soon. They communicated not only about learning, curricula and activities, but also about industries, internship and different cultures.

    The exchange activity this time advanced the visits and intercourse between Tsinghua SEM and Business School of Waseda University. Ms. You Hong of International Affairs office of SEM was also invited to attend the evening banquet. In the end, the Japanese students stood up altogether to sing the Waseda anthem, which promoted the banquet and communication to the climax.

    With the efforts of MBA Education Center and combined with the demand of PMBA students to have short-term study opportunities, after the successful completion of short-term exchange program “Commercial Survey between Mainland China and China Taipei” in 2011 in cooperation with MBA program of Business School of National Chengchi University of China Taipei, in 2012 the short-term exchange cooperation between Tsinghua MBA program and that of Business School of Waseda University finally took form.
