To improve the fostering of talents in knowledge-capital management domain and to advance the commencement of proseminar regarding knowledge-capital management system and the establishment of related regulations, China Education Management Information Center of Education Ministry and Japanese Actcell Corporation,together with Chinese universities hosted the 1st Cases Competition of Knowledge-Capital Enterprise Management at Zhongguancun Crowne Plaza in Beijing. Tsinghua MBA representative team beat other capable competitors and got the champion. BiMBA of Pecking University ranked the 2nd. CKGSB and Renmin University ranked the 3rd in parallel. The sum of bonus was 1 million Japanese Yen.
Tsinghua MBA is the first team appearing on the stage consisting of 2011 IMBA students Mr. Ye Weiyan, Ms. Jiao Ziyi and FMBA student Mr. Jiang Xiaohui. The case they studied came from Hitachi Construction Machinery and their mentor was Mr. Gao Xudong. Prof. Yasuhito Hanadoh(花堂靖仁) from Waseda University as the representative of judges made the following comment, “Their case analysis report made an unbelievable success!” During the preparation period, the above-mentioned 3 students went to Hitachi-CM’s institutions located in Hefei and Shanghai for investigation, interview and discussion and made an extensive communication in depth with the intermediate and high levels of the company. In the latter period of exchange with the Japanese, 2010 Tsinghua MBA student 香月孝文 offered to translate the Chinese and English letters and documents into Japanese, actively assist in the communication with the Japanese and decreased the work load of the Japanese enterprise.
After winning the prize, Mr. Jiang Xiaohui told the journalist, “This is an international competition and we compose a team with diversity. One of our team members comes from Singapore, one from China Taipei and I myself come from mainland China. Our cultural, education and working background varies from each other. In the preparation of the competition, we had mind sparks, cultural conflicts, work allocation and cooperation. It is amazing that we finally complete this competition and got the champion. This will be a cherished piece of memory in my life.”
The Chinese economy has fulfilled the rapid growth and will soon welcome the development phase of transition from quantity increase to quality reform. Under such circumstances, to realize the constant development, enterprises are more and more emphasizing and pursuing “knowledge-capital”. The 1st competition mainly collected enterprise case study reports from on-campus postgraduates (including MBA) and PHDs of Pecking University, Tsinghua University, CKGSB and Renmin University. These reports take enterprise management cases as study objects, summarize the operation and management experience through the analysis of enterprise management cases and provide guidance and references for future management. It is known that this competition will be expanded to national scope in China next year.
