Tsinghua MBA Students Win the Flextronics Business Ethics Case Writing Competition

On March 15, 2012, the finals and awards presentation of Flextronics Business Ethics Case Writing Competition took place at Tsinghua SEM. Three Tsinghua MBA teams won both the champion and the runner-up of the competition. Altogether 15 teams from some of China’s leading universities entered the finals. Apart from the three Tsinghua teams, the rest 12 teams shared the third prize of the competition. Professor YANG Bin, Senior Associate Dean of Tsinghua SEM attended the finals with his opening remarks.

In the final game, the business ethics case “Sacking Mudasir and the Project of Employment Reduction for Improving Efficiency” written by DING Dawei, a Tsinghua MBA 2011 F2-Class student, won the champion of the case writing competition. DING Dawei thus received a prize of RMB 20,000 and a summer intern opportunity at Flextronics.

"Decision-making in 6 Hours”, a case written by DING Dawei’s classmates ZHANG Xiaowei, LIU Xinwei and CHEN Yanfei, won the runner-up prize. Meanwhile, Tsinghua IMBA 2011 students LU Shiying, Jenny Tian Chung, Heng Su Yin and Pinky Hung’s case “Loyalty to Whom?” shared the runner-up prize of the competition.

The Flextronics Business Ethics Case Writing Competition was launched in September 2011, with over 50 business ethics cases competing for the final awards.
