The CPC branch from 2011 Cohort I1:CAN WEIBO SERVE THE PURPOSE OF CPC & GOVERNMENT MANAGEMENT?
Jul 13, 2020

The CPC(Communist Party of China) branch from 2011 Cohort I1 organized the 1st CPC activity in this semester on Nov. 21st.

IMBA program provides valuable 2-year period for both Chinese students and International students to study and work together. During daily communications, the branch found, the International students were sensitive to talk about topics related with CPC & China government.

So, we decide to choose CAN WEIBO SERVE THE PURPOSE OF CPC & GOVERNMENT MANAGEMENT as the topic of the 1st activity. From one side, we are expecting through openness to help International students to better understand the current politics environment in China; from the other side, talking about WEIBO, the popular networking tool in China, could trigger the branch members to think seriously its utility in the CPC & GOV. management.

There are 18 CPC members and 12 International students participating in the seminar. Around the news about FEW CPC & GOV. OFFICERS' WRONG USE OF WEIBO, the calling of ENCOURAGING CPC & GOV. INSTITUTIONs AND OFFICERs TO USE WEIBO, the suggestion on HOW TO USE WEIBO PROPERLY, all participants went through lots of hot discussions.

In the meanwhile, some International students also introduced the nettools used by the Government in their countries. Like, FACEBOOK's functions beyond just making friends; the use of TWITTER and YOUTUBE when the President candidates running for their elections in the States; unique POLITICAL STARS mechanism in the states, which maybe quite different from the other countries; and etc.

Citing some opinions from recent paragraphs from PEOPLE.COM as a conclusion:

Understanding people's care of social events; facing external queries and critiques honestly; improving the ability of handling public issue and crisis; identifying clearer personal and official roles; and etc.. Fully using the emerging nettools, like WEIBO, will be a great help to build social transparency and trust.
