On the evening of September, 11 2016, Thomas Shie’s Night – The 2016 Tsinghua MBA “Gathering Together in Elegance and Beauty” Welcome Party for New Students was held in the auditorium of Tsinghua University. Among the audience were Professor Xiaojun Qian, Associate Dean of Tsinghua SEM, Eunice Zhang, Executive Director of Tsinghua MBA Programs, and other Tsinghua MBA faculty members as well as more than 600 new Tsinghua MBA students together with senior students and Tsinghua MBA alumni.

Thomas Shie, Tsinghua IMBA alumnus of 2012 and corporate partner of DaJinYongYin Investment Co. Ltd., delivered opening remarks at the evening party as the naming sponsor. Mr. Shie noted that Tsinghua students are among the most outstanding talents in the country, and Tsinghua University is the place for pursuing academic aspirations and accumulating diverse thoughts. He also reminded students that their strenuous efforts of today will lead to a splendid tomorrow. Therefore, students should carefully consider their choices of today and goals for tomorrow. In Mr. Shie’s expectation, all new students should spare no effort in seizing their dreams.

The welcome party was entirely produced, directed, and performed by 2016 Tsinghua MBA students, who had spent as much as three months rehearsing. Beginning with an exciting opening video, the gala was composed of three chapters, titled “Youth,” “Campus,” and “Dream.” The band performance by 2016 Tsinghua GMBA students, To Say Love You Loudly, opened the first chapter of the gala and set the tone for the rest of the evening’s festivities.
