Six Tsinghua IMBA Students Admitted to MIT MSMS Program 2012
Jul 13, 2020

Congratulations to Lucy Zhao, Crystal Yanting Shi, Shawn Qing Xiao, Kevin Chen, Jonathan Shan and Leon Xin Liu to receive the admission to joint MIT MSMS Program this coming fall!

MIT Master of Science in Management Studies (MSMS) Programs enrolls top students from distinguished overseas business schools to complement their management education. With no required courses, the MSMS Program structure empowers each student to create a specific educational plan that is unique to his or her areas of interest.

As a partner to MIT Sloan management school, Tsinghua SEM encourages students from Tsinghua-MIT International MBA Program to apply to the Tsinghua-MIT MBA/MSMS dual-degree program. Students admitted to this program go to MIT Sloan for a 9 months intensive study after they complete their first year MBA study at Tsinghua. Upon satisfying the graduation requirements, students gain both Tsinghua MBA and MIT MSMS Degree.

Since 2007, we have a total of 14 students admitted to MIT MSMS program with a record high this year!

“I came to Beijing to get reconnected with my roots, become completely fluent in Mandarin, and be at the place where business innovation is at its turning point and since I arrived, Tsinghua has satisfied all of those longings and more. Just like any MBA program, it is what you make of it, but it's especially true at a place where the world economy is calling home. The challenging and enriching year I've had at Tsinghua has better prepared me for doing business in China. While the upcoming year at MIT will open my mind to the world of entrepreneurship and innovation. This is truly the best business school education I can imagine.”- Lucy Zhao

“The dual degree program is a great opportunity for students as it allows me to learn from two of the most recognizable institutions in the world. Tsinghua’s IMBA program gave me a good understanding of China. Through rigorous classes, group assignments and networking with friends outside of school, I gained good knowledge of how the society operates and how people interact in the country. I lacked China exposure before Tsinghua, and now I am confident to say I have good insight about the country. I jumped on the dual degree program as it will be a tremendous experience to spend the second year at MIT Sloan and learn from some of the brightest minds in the world. The level of talent, qualification of people, as well as the networking opportunities presented at MIT are all first class. It is a rare opportunity to obtain two degrees in two years from the East and West, and I am certain the experience will greatly enhance my personal and professional development.” – Kevin Chen

“This is an excellent opportunity that allows one to leverage the brands and capabilities of MIT and Tsinghua. This is the only program I have seen that is all elective-based, allowing one to tailor it to meet the needs and interests of the student.  Being able to walk away after two years with a degree from both MIT and Tsinghua seemed like too good of an opportunity to pass up.” – Jon Shan
