The pre-competition training workshop of the 1st Tsinghua CSR Competition was held last Saturday, November 10th at Weilun Building (School of Economics and Management) of Tsinghua University. Around 130 participants from 36 teams (formed by 7 universities in Beijing) attended the training and the lecture room was fully packed on the day.
Tsinghua Net Impact mentor, Professor Qian Xiao Jun of School of Economics and Management started with her opening speech. Professor Qian shared her own experience on corporate social responsibility research and practice, and also encouraged the participants to produce innovative and strategic CSR solutions. Next, three well-known CSR consulting firms conducted training on CSR from different perspectives. Syntao Co., Ltd’s training focused on introducing the current trend and development of corporate social responsibility in China. BSR China gave a detailed explanation of CSR strategic analysis tools supplemented with exercises. Ruder Finn Asia which is a leading PR firm shared on more specific application tactics of effective communication and public presentation. The training received positive feedback from the participants whom commented that the professional training enhanced their CSR awareness and confidence for preparing a practical strategy solution.
The 2nd part of the session is an interaction session with the three sponsor companies which each provided a CSR challenge for the competition. The representatives were from CJ Corporation China, China Talent Group and Taliworks Group and they gave a company presentation on their main business, current status, development strategy, corporate culture and CSR initiatives to the candidates, and later had focus group discussions with the participants.
With the great support from the partner organizations and the participants, the CSR workshop was completed successfully. Net Impact wishes all participating teams all the best in the competition.
