On 23 December 2012, while the temperature has dropped to the coldest in almost three decades, more than sixty alumni of Tsinghua-MIT International MBA (IMBA) program along with their families gathered in XiChunYuan Restaurant on Tsinghua University campus to celebrate Christmas and New Year. In attendance, there were representations from almost every class and year since 1997. Furthermore, nine current students from Class of 2013/ 2014, school staff including LI Jinliang, Associate Dean of SEM, DI Ruipeng, Assistant Dean of SEM, MA Jia, Executive Director of IMBA program and CHEN Jinqiu, Manager of IMBA program hosted the dinner event.
In his opening speech, LI Jinliang, Associate Dean of SEM in representing of the school, welcomed all the alumni back to campus and wished everyone best for the New Year. He was also applauded on how the developments and accomplishments of every alumnus’ career have helped to build the prominent brand of the IMBA program today. DI Ruipeng, Assistant Dean of SEM and one of the most popular professors among IMBA alumni expressed how school would host more events and seminars tailored for the alumni and wished alumni to visit school more often. MA Jia, Executive Director of IMBA program thanked all alumni for their continuing support of the program.
The speeches and dinner were both well received by the alumni and their families. There were a lot of exchanges of good memories of studying in school between alumni as well as catching up with each other’s recent career developments. Everyone expressed interest for attending future school events.
After dinner, all alumni were invited to the “Gathering Together in Elegance and Beauty” 2013 Tsinghua MBA New Year Gala hosted by the Tsinghua MBA student union. (Contributed by ZHOU Wei, IMBA Class of 2014)
