A certificate presenting ceremony was held by Emerson Electric (NYSE: EMR, hereinafter called Emerson) at its Beijing corporate office on Dec 12, 2012 for the 2012-2013 MBA Emerson Scholarship winners from Tsinghua University. Li Jie, Director of Government & Corporate Relations of Emerson China, presented the scholarship certificates to the winners: Chen Zhengnan (MBA2011 F2), Peng Peng (MBA2011 I1) and Li Yuanchu (MBA2011 I1).

Ms.Li complimented the winners on their outstanding achievements and brilliant performances in the interviews. She said as a century-old organization, Emerson greatly values its cooperation with Tsinghua and other leading Chinese universities as a workable way to fulfill its responsibility for talent development. She also said Emerson would continue to strengthen its cooperation with universities in education and talent training, share its experience in the industry and corporate management and encourage the new generation to better serve the community with innovation.
Wang Xu and Chen Fang, teachers from MBA Programs, Tsinghua University School of Economics and Management (Tsinghua SEM), attended the event. They thanked Emerson for having been a long-standing partner of Tsinghua, and acknowledged the active role of the university’s partnership with such a leading multinational in students’ growth and career planning. They also shared that Tsinghua MBA Programs has been exploring new programs that are more suitable for the development of students, and hoped that there would be more ways of cooperation between the university and organizations in the future to better connect learning with practice. They also invited organizations to be more involved in meaningful events such as entrance selection and give their valuable suggestions on the career planning of students.
The three students stood out after a series of interviews and appraisals on leadership, analytical skills, decision-making abilities and communication skills. They said it’s an honor to be the winners of the scholarship sponsored by Emerson, a century-old organization, and they were very encouraged and more confident. They all agreed that the insights on industry knowledge and management which they had learned from exchanges with Emerson are more valuable than the scholarship. They also shared the most impressive cases in the interviews, from which they have more clearly understood Emerson’s culture of steadiness and preciseness and ideas about talent cultivation and management. They also expressed the wish for future cooperation with Emerson.
