On the invitation of Be Better Education, a NGO, Tsinghua University Net Impact initiated a volunteer initiative whereby 6 volunteers from 2011MBA participated in youth social innovation training activities called ‘Who Will Be The Next Change”. The training activities are organized by Be Better Education and sponsored by Citi Foundation, and were held in Beijing Business School on 16 and 17 June 2012.
"Who will be the next change" campaign aims to help young people to develop themselves and enhance their self-perception. The training covers topics such as self-cognition, social responsibility, teamwork, financial business skills, innovation and entrepreneurship. The training aims to inspire youth’s independent thinking and cooperative action to help them integrate into society better. The training program mainly targets vocational high school students whom may not have the opportunity to step into university classrooms. Nonetheless, through the training, the volunteers could provide some practical help to these students by sharing their accumulated knowledge and experience.
In the two-day training course, Tsinghua MBA volunteer lecturers shared with the students their valuable work experience and professional knowledge. There were several sessions including the characteristics of change, ways to set goals; team building; marketing and brand building. Through games, experience sharing, group discussions and other activities, the Tsinghua MBA volunteer lecturers shared types of research methods to help determine the goal of changes, ways of making clear allocations within a team, establish the rules of a team and SWOT analysis tools. Meanwhile, they explained marketing principles and marketing tools by using theory combined with practice.
The principle of this community service activity is basically changing the world should start from changing ourselves. Only when we break our personal shackles and build adequate capability would we be able to influence others and make positive changes.
