On April 1, 2017, the Ministry of Education
of the People’s Republic of China announced the list of 2016 Chang Jiang
Scholars. Professor WANG Hao, Department of Finance, and Professor XUE Jian,
Department of Accounting, at Tsinghua University School of Economics and
Management (Tsinghua SEM), were named Chang Jiang Young Scholars.
Professor WANG Hao is an Associate
Professor of the Department of Finance at Tsinghua SEM. He joined the SEM in
2007 after receiving his doctoral degree in finance from McGill University in
Montreal, Canada. Professor WANG’s primary research interests are ambiguity and
risk management, and the Chinese financial markets. Professor Wang teaches
"Fixed Income Securities" and "Corporate Finance" at the
School. He has published in international journals such as Journal of Financial
Economics, Journal of Banking and Finance, Financial Management and Journal of
Futures Markets.
Professor WANG Hao
Professor XUE Jian is an Associate
professor of Department of Accounting at Tsinghua SEM. Her research interests
include financial accounting, information efficiency of capital markets,
analyst forecasts. Her papers have been published in Journal of Accounting and
Economics, Review of Quantitative Finance and Accounting, China Accounting and
Finance Research (Hong Kong), Financial Research, Nankai Business Review, China
Accounting Review, etc. She got several prizes in excellent teaching from SEM
and runner-up of Franklin Prize for Teaching Excellence in 2006 from HKUST.
Professor XUE Jian
Currently, there are a total of 13 Chang
Jiang Scholars in Tsinghua SEM, including 9 Distinguished Professors, 1
Visiting Professor and 3 Young Scholars.
The Chang Jiang Scholars program was
founded in 1998 to bring eminent scholars from across the world to Chinese
universities to teach and conduct research with prominent academicians at the
nation’s leading universities.
